For a while, I've been thinking that it might be a Good Deed to write a series of free, open-source textbooks for grade schools, to help schools combat plummeting funding. It seems that
MIT OpenCourseWare is a step in a similar direction.
My new office contains a
Aeron Chair. These are officially considered to be the cursed monkey's paw of silicon valley -- a sure sign that your company is being mismanaged and is destined for the dustbin of startup history. But now that I'm sitting in one, I can claim that they are genuinely comfortable. Plus, the flow-through design facilitates completely silent flatulation. Thanks, Herman Miller!
