Nothing quite like coming back from vacation to discover that more than ten thousand Americans are dead as a consequence of Bush administration incompetence and ideology.

Just like Iraq: there may or may not have been a legitimate justification for the invasion, but there is no excuse for the bungling of the occupation and the pimping of the reconstruction to politically connected cronies.

Just like 9/11: if the CIA and the FBI weren't collaborating effectively enough, this can only be expected as long as the managers who ought to have been banging on the table fail to understand the role the federal government plays in protecting its citizens from terrorist attack, goes on vacation after reading a memo entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Within the US", and proceeds to read a book to a classroom of children after hearing that a plane has flown into the WTC, as if this were somebody else's problem.

America shouldn't have to stand another day of this incompetent administration, much less another three years. Any president with an inkling of personal responsibility would have resigned ages ago -- Bush drank all his away decades ago.
