I just watched the first disk of Satoshi Kon's new anime series, Paranoia Agent. It's brilliant -- this is one of those rare works that is going to take anime up to another level of storytelling.

Review: Kon hints that Shonen Bat somehow works in much the same manner as that stomach ache you get when you don’t want to show up for an appointment, a kind of survival technique developed as the next step in evolution – a function of society that relieves stress through a violent outside agent.
